Cevo Season 3 Week 6 - BABS vs Plasma Gaming - 21 - 9 So this being the first season for CEVO for BABS, We really arent doing to bad. Yeah 2 - 4 isn't great, but looking back at the first season of CAL, people start slow, but we will end Strong. It takes a whole season of anything just to get the hand of things, to feel out your opponents, and to just truely understand how everything works. So this being our first season, with a lot of good teams in CEVO, I dont think we are doing bad at all. If there is a next season, which i hope there will be, count on BABS to be a contender.
As for this match, Going into it we knew it was going to be a tough match. I personally has password issues with CEVO and CMN and wasn't able to connect until roughly 15 minutes after the match should have begun. From what i was hearing over vent while the rest of the team, including MANIAC, Colossus, TeDo and Onion, we just messing around and trying to get a feel for the other team, that Plasma Gaming were just a bunch of punks. Trashing talking and trying to throw weight around by barking order and what not. I wasn't there to see this but hearing that just make we want to destroy these guys and i know the rest of the team felt the same way.
After I joined we began the match, and on the very first round, PlasmaGaming rushed out of Mid Connector and tried to rush into ladder room. I was playing Z Connector and Mid and I saw someone throw a nade that landed very close to them. I instinctively pull a nade and toss it over towards ladder room and frag two of them, and followed up with a USP kill. The last two of them made it into ladder room and up ladder where they were met by Onion who decided to clean up for the first round win. Very exciting round, nades flying, people dieing. Not one BABS died that round. Excellent Round. A few rounds later, MANIAC is in Ivy and makes a call , "A bunch Ivy." Little did he know that the WHOLE PlasmaGaming team went ivy this round. MANIAC peeks ivy and totally surprises PlasmaGaming and goes on to own the first four of them he sees with a few M4 rounds to their forheads. The last guy did pick MANIAC but then inturn got rolled by Colossus. Great round MANIAC. PlasmaGaming had a few save rounds where we over powered them 1 on 4. I know saving would give you a gun for the next round, but myself along with the team wouldnt give them a change to use that gun they saved. I remember one instance they saved an awp. The next round that awper was at Mid Connector, I didnt get the pick, but I pushed to mid train between Z and Mid Connectors so he couldnt see me, He made 3 or 4 shots that missed, I laid back waiting for him to peek. Eventually he peeked again and I took him down. Onion also help down the fort. On a few occassions he clutched and saved the sites from any bomb plants. Tedo played inside B and was fantastic like always. His job is it make the fast calls if anythings going down in B, and just delay long enough for us to rotate. Onion and myself rotated very quickly when any call was made at B. Tedo did his job and played that site awsomely. We couldn't have asked anymore from him. Giving us time to rotate i would usually get 1-2 guys when i peeked from Z and Onion moved in to take the site back. Only a few rounds when they had B and were under trains did that dominate and win the rounds. But that didnt happen that much. First half ended with 10 - 5 in favor of BABS. Great first half Team!
T side, We utilized the good ol' 2 1 2 strat. Maniac , Onion would go towards B to ladder room, Colossus would head to connector, and Tedo and Myself took Ivy. 90% of the time, We pushed A site from these locations. Switching it up maybe with having two guys push out connector and 1 ladder room. Tedo would always flash ivy then we both would push up making sure the awping watching ivy had no chance at all by throwing flashes and nades to stop him. As we pushed ivy ladder room and connector would push with flashes and smokes near Z. Almost always there was two CT's watching Ivy, which Tedo and Myself would take out allowing Connector people to push while there was a smoke blocking Z connector from picking. A few times we rushed B which turned out poorly in which we got owned. Second Half ended with an 11 - 4 in favor of BABS.
Everyone played an excellent match. Everyones game was tight, and everyone knew what had to be done in each situation to come away with the Win. I dedicate my CT side to Tedo, He played awsome in B even though he fells a bit overwhelmed there. My T side i dedicate to inVert, who couldnt make the match this time. If we keep growing as a team the way and as fast as we are now, this match was a very good example as to how far we have come as a team and working together for the same goal, next season of CEVO will be much better.
